Join us this summer for 4 Sundays this May-June, where we guide kids of ages 9+ on DSLR camera functions & photography basics. The workshop aims at introducing practical skills for capturing and expressing their perspectives visually.
There are interactive classroom sessions, photography project, exciting camera museum tourhands-on print making activity.

About the Coach

Priya Goswami

Priya Goswami is a Delhi-based creative professional with 10+ years of experience in photography, films and creative direction, including portraiture work with children and families. Since 2021, she has been mentoring children through experiential photography programs that encourage observation, self-expression, and creative exploration.

Author of the photography section in the Art Exploration series by S Chand Publishing and former education marketing professional at Oxford University Press India.

31 May – Introduction to Photography & Camera Functions

Introduction to Photography – History & Art

  • Introduction to the history & evolution of photography
  • Understanding Photography as a medium of observation, storytelling & creative expression

Exploring the Camera – Functions & Settings

  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of different types of cameras, with a focus on DSLR cameras, their components and functionalities
  • Understanding manual Camera settings such as ISO, aperture, and shutter speed to control exposure and achieve desired photographic effects

7 June – Creative Exploration & Guided Photography Museum Tour

Exploring Light

  • Understanding natural light and exploring light & shadow in photography
  • Creative light painting activity
  • Pinhole camera making and experimentation

Photography Project

  • Q&A, Group discussions & collaborative knowledge sharing
  • Introduction to  different genres of photography and guidance in selecting a theme for the final any one for their project

Guided Photography Museum Walk

  • Immersive learning experience through a guided museum tour
  • Exploring history of photography through visual exhibit – Over 4000 cameras and other equipment dating back to the 1850s
  • Witnessing evolutions of cameras and photography over the years

14 June – Cyanotype Print Making & Portrait Photography

Hands-on Activity Developing Cyanotype Prints

  • Introduction to Cyanotype, a historic photographic printing process known for its distinctive blue and white prints
  • It is a cameraless process, i.e., no camera required to make photographic prints
  • All the equipment & consumables for print making will be provided to every child

People & Portrait Photography

  • Exploring portrait photography – subjects
  • Tips and tricks, Do’s & Don’ts to capture creative pictures of their families and friends

21 June – Photography Project Presentation & Certificate Distribution

  • Presenting their individual photography projects as per the chosen genre
  • Group reflection, feedback and sharing of learning experiences
  • Participation certificate distribution and workshop conclusion

FAQs

This workshop spans a total of 12 hours, i.e. 3 hours each on 4 sundays in May-June 2026.

This workshop is being conducted in association with Museo Camera, Gurgaon at their center.

Any basic DSLR or mirrorless camera works. The workshop will introduce kids to practical skills for capturing and expressing their perspectives visually.

A camera and a curious kid willing to explore and dive into the magic world of photography.

You are welcome to explore the Museo Camera center/gallery and its café while your child enjoys exploring their camera.

This is an introductory level workshop where we’ll be introducing the camera settings and photography basics to kids. Hence no prior photography knowledge needed.

Yes, every child participant will be provided with a certificate of participation.
